[[wysiwyg_imageupload:7204:]]Seems some are comparing the Guardians of the Galaxy movie from Marvel Studios to the flop known as the Green Lantern movie.
io9 seems to think that the reason Green Lantern didn't do all that well was because of the plethora of CGI.
Anyway, they spoke to Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige and insinuated that since the Guardians of the Galaxy movie will be using CGI, that it could tank like the Green Lantern movie.
While that doesn't make too much sense, here is Feige's reply:
Well the same way, Iron Man 3 has as much CG as any movie we've ever made, and I hope it doesn't feel like Green Lantern.
And it's all about the aesthetic you go for and already we have an art department as impressive as any art department I've ever seen in London on Guardians. And it's, you know, designing things and believing that they're real when part of the team's made up of a raccoon and a tree.
The Guardians of the Galaxy movie has an August 1, 2014 release directed by James Gunn starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Ophelia Lovibond in an unknown role said to be aiding The Collector, and Lee Pace as the film's main villain.
