It was recently announced that former Doctor Who star Karen Gillan had landed a role in the new James Gunn-directed Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Then the rumors started to fly with a UK tabloid/newspaper printing that Karen Gillan was playing Angela, a character Marvel Comics recently purchased from UK writer Neil Gaiman.
Well, both Angela and Gaiman are now involved with the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel comic book; so perhaps similar to the false report of Robert Downey Jr.'s involvement (as Iron Man is in the GOTG comic book, too), the tabloid took off with it that Karen Gillan was playing Angela.
Or maybe it was the red hair.
Regardless, Karen Gillan was recently asked about the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, but isn't saying a word; however, she did confirm her character is a villain.
"I can’t really say anything about it other than my character is really bad. My hands are more tied on this than they were on Dr. Who!" Gillan told Scotsman.com.
CBN's own guess as to who Karen Gillan is playing in the movie is the Matriarch, the leader of Universal Church of Truth.
Yep. Which could mean The Magus and Adam Warlock may be involved.
The Guardians of the Galaxy movie has an August 1, 2014 release directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer and Zoe Saldana as Gamora.
Also rumored for the movie are Michael Rooker, Lee Pace, Ophelia Lovibond, Enzo Cilenti, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close and Benicio Del Toro.
