[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5949:]]If you are a DnA Guardians of the Galaxy comic book fan this news might make you happy. Or should we say happier?

That's in addition to the recent news from director James Gunn who recently stated the Guardians of the Galaxy movie takes place in a different galaxy.

Those not in the know about the comic books: Marvel Comics recently dumped DnA's comic book stuff that the movie is based on for some softer less "cosmic" version that's all about the Avengers and X-Men.

Same with the Guardians sister book of Nova which has been replaced by a teenage "Spider-Man."

Funny thing is, a majority of the reviews and fans liked the science-fiction aspects of the new books better than anything, and the new books are moving away from that.

Yeah, no clue, either.

Anyway, getting back to the Guardians of the Galaxy movie news.

In a recent interview with SFX Magazine, Marvel Studios producer and president Kevin Feige gave an update on the Guardians of the Galaxy movie and offered that it takes place 95% in space and that it's more of a standalone movie -- and the Avengers are not involved.

KF: The Thor film and the Guardians Of The Galaxy film certainly are cosmic. Guardians and Thor will take the brunt of the cosmic side of the universe, particularly Guardians, which is 95% in space.

SFX: Will Guardians Of The Galaxy prove as integral to "Avengers 2" as each Avenger’s solo film?

KF: I would say that it does not. It’s much more of a standalone film. It takes place in the same universe. And when we’ve been on the other side of that universe in other movies, you might see those characteristics in Guardians, but the Avengers are not involved with what’s happening out there at this time.

That last statement is interesting as it seems to say no Iron Man?

Robert Downey Jr. recently hinted at some sort of Guardians of the Galaxy movie cameo in Iron Man 3, and it's also thought Iron Man might be joining up in the Guardians. Perhaps Guardians of the Galaxy is set before Iron Man 3 and Tony meets up with them at the end of the movie? And then on to The Avengers 2?
