SECRET LOCALES ILLUMINATED BY “GREEN LANTERN” SYMBOL WILL RECRUIT FANS IN 11 NORTH AMERICAN CITIES TO JOIN THE CORPS

 

 

pic In celebration of the June 17th theatrical release and big-screen debut of the popular superhero “Green Lantern,” Warner Bros. Pictures will electrify 11 North American cities on Monday, June 13, encouraging people to Join the (Green Lantern) Corps.  Markets include: Los Angeles, New York City, Vancouver, San Diego, Miami, Atlanta, Cleveland, Kansas City, Sacramento, St. Louis, and New Orleans, where the film was shot.

 

To Join the Corps, fans will be invited to decipher local clues leading them to a secret location where the “Green Lantern” symbol will be projected from dusk until midnight.  Those attending the events, sponsored by Kodak, will have the chance to win fantastic prizes, including an opportunity to be among the first to see the film at local preview screenings, limited edition T-shirts, light-up “Green Lantern” rings, “Green Lantern: Emerald Knights” Blu-ray combo packs and more.  And some people who are photographed with the projected symbol behind them will have their photos posted on the movie Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/greenlanternmovie.  Select markets will also give people the chance to record the “Green Lantern” oath which will be added to the Infinite Oath app on the movie website: www.greenlantern.com.

Atlanta 

The 43KIXAtlanta Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/43KIXAtlanta) will disclose one clue each day (June 9 – June 13) to help fans identify the “Green Lantern” symbol’s secret location.  The first 25 fans to show up at the secret Atlanta location, and take their photo with the symbol, will receive one screening pass to the local advance screening, two days before the film’s nationwide theatrical release.

 

Cleveland 

WAKS-FM will disclose one clue daily on-air, and on Facebook and Twitter beginning Wednesday, June 8th through Monday, June 13th to help fans identify the “Green Lantern” symbol’s secret location. The first 25 “Green Lantern” fans to find “The Corps” at 9:00PM & recite the Green Lantern Oath, which will be added to the Infinite Oath app on the movie website, will win “Green Lantern” prize-packs. Everyone that attends the event will have the opportunity to be registered to win a $500 gift card given away at 10:00PM.

 

Los Angeles

KIIS-FM, will host the GOBO GREEN LANTERN event on Monday, June 13th at 9PM at The Grove. KIIS-FM’s own DJ Boy Toy Jesse will direct listeners to check out The Grove’s website for clues as to where the light will shine! The first 50 fans to arrive will receive passes to the local advance screening, two days before the film’s nationwide theatrical release. And, LAX is also Joining the Corps by turning their iconic pylons green on Mon., 6/13 in celebration of the film's opening. Sponsored by Kodak.

 

Kansas

WDAF-TV (FOX) and KMXV-FM (CHR) are encouraging their viewers and listeners to find the secret GREEN LANTERN Gobo location. Clues will be given over a three-day period to help participants unveil the secret spot. The first 20 people who visit the Gobo attraction will be awarded with GREEN LANTERN rings, along with a free Subway sandwich, t-shirt, poster, and VIP seats at the advance screening.  Photos of the 20 winners with their rings will be posted on WDAF-TV's website on the following day.

 

New Orleans

WRKN-FM Radio will disclose the clue on Monday, June 13 to help fans identify the “Green Lantern” symbol’s secret location.  The first 100 fans to arrive at the secret location will receive passes to the local advance screening, two days before the film’s nationwide theatrical release.

 

Miami

WSVN TV – Deco Drive, WJAN TV 4, infamouskidd.com, hudakonhollywood.com and sflsocialgeeks.org will disclose clues during the week of Monday, June 6 – Friday, June 13 to help fans identify the “Green Lantern” symbol’s secret location. WPOW FM – Power 96 will host the Green Lantern Event. The first 50- 100 fans to arrive and have their picture taken with the symbol will receive passes to an advance screening, two days before the film’s nationwide theatrical release. Some of those attending the event will also receive limited edition T-shirts and other promotional prizes noted above. San Diego

KIOZ-FM or Rock 1053, will host the gobo GREEN LANTERN event on Monday, June 13th at 9:00pm at the Star of India (1492 N. Harbor Dr - 92101.) KIOZ-FM will prompt listeners with clues to find the “Green Lantern” symbol and Join the Corps. The first 25 fans to arrive will receive passes to the local advance screening, two days before the film’s nationwide theatrical release, along with other promotional prizing. The event is sponsored by Kodak.

 

Sacramento

KMAX-TV and KZZO-FM will disclose one clue each day (week of Monday, June 6 – Friday, June 10) to help fans identify the “Green Lantern” symbol’s secret location.  Go to Now100fm.com, Gooddaysacramento.com, Facebook.com/markatthemovies, Facebook.com/43KIXNorCal and Twitter.com/#!/43kixnorcal for clues that will lead to the secret location.

 

St. Louis

KTVI-TV (FOX) is encouraging their viewers to find the secret GREEN LANTERN Gobo light, which will be projected onto a building in downtown St. Louis.  Clues will be given over the week of 6/6 during Fox 2 In the Morning with Kevin Steincross playing the film's trailer and then revealing the daily clue to help participants unveil the secret location.  The first 75 people who visit the Gobo light attraction will be awarded with screening passes, GREEN LANTERN rings, t-shirts and a chance to win the Green Lantern VIP prize pack.
