The latest for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie is that Marvel Studios is looking at Glenn Close to play a leader of the Nova Corps, with her role being compared to a Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury type-of-character.

Deadline came up with this one and says Close’s role would be the closest thing to the one that Samuel L. Jackson plays in Marvel’s The Avengers movie. Her character is described as having a leadership role in the Nova Corps.

The last rumor had it that John C. Reilly was playing a human SHIELD Agent Rhoman Dey that was compared to Agent Coulson.

Rhomann Dey in the comics is a Nova Corpsmen and responsible for Richard Rider becoming Nova.

Guess we'll find out sooner or later if any of this is true, but Marvel Studios may want to add more females to the cast to balance out all the testosterone.

However, in addition to Zoe Saldana, Ophelia Lovibond is rumored to being playing The Collector's daughter.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movie has an August 1, 2014 release directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill Star-Lord and Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer.
