Gary Oldman Talks Lost The Dark Knight Rises Script; Mark Strong Talks CIA Secrecy
[[wysiwyg_imageupload:1067:]]Christopher Nolan is known for the tight ship he runs in regards to the secrecy surrounding his movies, with The Dark Knight Rises being no exception, as it's been stated that the actors involved have read the ending only under lock and key.
Seems maybe the entire script should be locked up as well, as Gary Oldman, who plays commissioner Gordon, thought he had lost the script to Nolan's final Batman installment.
Oldman informs the BBC that he was in his hotel when he was getting ready for a dinner date. He went out, and when he came back — he couldn't find it. However, the script did end up surfacing with no foul play involved.
"I was in a panic for 20 minutes. I thought, 'where the hell have I put it?' It had my name on it. They would have killed me," Oldman told the BBC. "I'd gone out for dinner and I had put it in the room between the mattress and the bed, because I couldn't scrunch it into the safe. I was half-thinking about something else and shoved it there."
[[wysiwyg_imageupload:1068:]]Another actor also tells the BBC about strict procedure surrounding a film, with Mark Strong on Zero Dark Thirty.
Zero Dark Thirty, a new film directed by Katherine Bigelow, is about the Navy's Seals raid on Osama Bin Laden's home in Pakistan.
Seems the director wanted the script so secret that special computer security measures were implemented that included only reading it on a computer that detects whether you are reading it or not, and if not, causes the screen to go blurry. In addition, if the user hasn't read the script in a few days — it gets deleted.
But why so secret?
Strong said the script went into "a lot of CIA procedure" that had been provided by "the people who were involved" in the raid.
"Zero Dark Thirty" is due in theaters December 19th, 2012.
The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra's al Ghul.
