Marvel has cast Game of Thrones' Finn Jones as Danny Rand for the upcoming Netflix Iron Fist series.
Jones spoke with Entertainment Weekly (via reddit) where it's learned the 28-year-old actor is training around the clock for the role consisting of daily routines filled with Kung Fu, Wushu and Tai Chi training in addition to meditation and studying Buddhism.
"I've always dreamed of a role that bridged spiritual discipline and badass superhero," Jones said. "There's a contradiction in those elements that's going to be very fun to play."
In Marvel’s Iron Fist, Daniel Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
EW also offers the following:
" After his family meets a tragic fate while on expedition in China, a young Rand is adopted by the people of the mystical lost city of K'un-Lun, where he's taught a magical fighting style. Years later, he returns to New York to fight crime."
Fellow Game of Thrones' star Jessica Henwick has also been cast as Colleen Wing.
Marvel has yet to announce a premiere date for Iron Fist on Netflix.
