We are told there is now a revised production timetable for WB's Justice League.
Principle Photography is planned to start January/February 2014 with Henry Cavill definitely in as Kal-El/Clark Kent.
We are also told a director should be attached in the fall, and with it, enter full pre-production.
Our source told us back in June of last year that Henry Cavill was wanted as Superman for the Justice League movie and that the Man of Steel would be spearheading it all.
Our source also gave us some information about Green Lantern 2; that Joseph Kosinksi was being eyed to direct. Most recently, DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns stated there are plans for Green Lantern. Our source also said they are keeping Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern, as well as provided information that Johns, David Goyer and Zack Snyder were a part of a DC movie creative team.
In addition, Johns let it be known that at this Summer's San Diego Comic-Con, an announcement regarding the DC Characters would be made "across the board."
Regarding a Batman reboot, last we were told, Rian Johnson (Looper) was on the short list.
Update: Regarding the other DC movies, the source says the only planned films in active development that are certain to be released in the next 4 years are Justice League and a Batman reboot.
Man of Steel sequel is almost certain to happen, but anybody close to the production of that will say "one step at a time," though everybody knows a sequel is going to to be released summer 2017 after Justice League.
All other scripts for films are gathering dust somewhere. The plan is to release spin off films from Justice League featuring Flash, Green Lantern, Batman, Wonder Woman - with at least one DC film every year to rival Marvel.
Berlanti & Co already drafted a Flash origin script featuring Barry Allen. They also drafted a Green Lantern sequel, but new writers might come on board for a Green Lantern sequel even if they decide to keep Ryan Reynolds, however.
