The BBC has announced a new 90 minute drama, "Adventure in Space and Time," for Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary, which takes place next year.
"Adventure in Space and Time" will tell the story of the origin of Doctor Who in the early 1960s.
Mark Gatiss, the writer, said of "Adventure in Space and Time," "This is the story of how an unlikely set of brilliant people created a true television original."
The show will have a feature on the first Doctor, William Hartnell, and how he moved from hard-man roles to become a childhood hero.
Current Doctor Who showrunner, Steven Moffat, will be on as Executive Producer and added, "The story of Doctor Who is the story of television - so it's fitting in the anniversary year that we make our most important journey back in time to see how the Tardis was launched."
Further details will be announced next year.
And season 7 of Doctor Who returns this Fall.
