The Doctor Strange Friday box office numbers are in which sees the film speculated for an $80 million+ opening weekend.

Doctor Strange brought in $32.6 million on Friday, which includes the Thursday night advance screenings ($9.4 million).

The number puts Doctor Strange ahead of Marvel's Thor: The Dark World, which went on to make $85.7 million in its own opening weekend.

Doctor Strange currently has a worldwide gross of $165,459,000.

Over at Rotten Tomatoes, Doctor Strange is sitting rather nicely with a 90% positive rating among the critics. Now that the movie has been released, the audience score actually went up a point in the past couple of days to 91% favorable.

For an origin story, I think it's one of Marvel's better films and beats out Captain America: The First Avenger as well as Thor.

"Doctor Strange" is now in theaters directed by Scott Derrickson starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mads Mikkelsen.
