With Fox Studios officially announcing they are moving forward with the Deadpool movie, a rumor followed that it will be rated PG-13.
Now that appears to not be true as the co-writer of the Deadpool movie, Rhett Reese, has taken to his Twitter account to state the rating is still up in the air.
"Hey, guys, no one knows yet whether Dpool will be R or PG-13. There may not be an announcement for a long while. Hang in!" Reese tweeted.
It's previously been stated that Fox Studios was hesitant to move forward on Deadpool because they didn't think an R-Rated superhero/comic book movie would work; however, following the reception of the Deadpool test footage, Fox obviously changed their mind and announced a release date.
Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has previously said a PG-13 Deadpool movie could be possible and referenced the test footage pointing out it wasn't R-Rated.
However, Liefeld also stated the rumor about Deadpool being rated PG-13 wasn't true.
"Unfounded," he replied on Twitter about the rumors surrounding that Deadpool will be rated PG-13.
"Deadpool" has a February 12, 2016 release date.
