picWarner Bros. has a history of going after websites that include their character or movie names in the links.

They have previously gone after and won the rights to various domains including,,, and more.

Now, it appears DC Comics has won the domain as reports a decision has been made by a single-member Panel of the National Arbitration Forum that the domain name be transferred from its current owner to DC Comics.

DC Comics filed a dispute over in June, and the panelist declared that the is identical to the trademarks held by DC, and "the domain name was neither a bona fide offering of goods or services, nor a legitimate noncommercial or fair use."

Interestingly enough, the is up for sale for $300.

Not sure what would happen if someone purchased the rights and set up a fan page, as that might fullfill the "legitimate noncommercial or fair use" clause. However, as the ruling came down prior to the sale, all bets are most likely off, and would just further ensue the new owner legal fees above and beyond the cost for the domain.

Once the transfer is complete, maybe this will be the official site for the Zack Snyder directed Superman reboot, the Man Of Steel.

Thanks to CBR's Robot 6 for the heads up.
