DC Comics unveiled the logo for the 75th Anniversary of Superman and also announced that Man of Steel director Zack Snyder will be doing an animated short.
The logo will be used by all divisions of Warner Bros., with new movie, comic books and a video game being launched including Superman Unchained, Superman/Batman, the Infinite Crisis video game and the Henry Cavill-starring movie.
Details are scarce regarding the Zack Snyder animated short, but it's said to be one continuous shot, without edits, that's an homage to the Man of Steel and his many iterations over the past 75 years, which includes the cartoons and big screen versions.
Bruce Timm, Jay Oliva, Geoff Johns and Mike Carlin and WB Animation’s Peter Girardi join Snyder on the project.
"Warner Bros. is privileged to be home to the global Superman brand, which has had an unparalleled impact on popular culture for 75 years,” said Warners CEO Kevin Tsujihara. “We are proud to commemorate this milestone with exciting entertainment across the entire studio and across the globe, ensuring this enduring icon reaches new generations of audiences."
