Bleeding Cool got an early look at the numbers, and they show DC coming out on top in both share of dollars spent and market share of comics.
DC had 35.74% share of dollars spent on comics and graphic novels, compared to Marvel's 35.37% share.
Worth a mention is that DC is holding the line at $2.99, while Marvel seems to be increasing the line to $3.99.
Regarding the total number of comics and graphic novels sold, DC saw a whopping 43.04% marketshare, compared to Marvel's 37.88%.
Also worth a mention, is the fact that Justice League #1, which sold 200,000+, is not part of that number. And as Bleeding Cool notes, Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man #1 with new Spider-Man, Miles Morales, is. Furthermore, none of the DC second printings were a part of that either, as they will be counted for October.
Sales numbers for individual issues should be interesting, and should come out next week or so.
