The Dark Knight Rises (2012): Warner Bros. Pulls TV and Radio Spots

As a result of The Dark Knight Rises Aurora, Colorado shooting not only has Warner Bros. pulled the Gangster Squad trailer, cancelled the France red carpet movie premiere, but they have also yanked The Dark Knight Rises TV and radio spots currently airing as well.

Variety has it that multiple sources at two broadcast networks have confirmed that Warner Bros. has asked the stations to pull The Dark Knight Rises TV spots to be replaced by other WB or Time Warner shows.

The move seems to be temporary as Variety states WB sources stated the removal of the TV spots to last a few days.

Last night saw James Holmes, 24, allegedly enter a movie theater, disperse a gas canister and open fire upon the movie goers. A police official said that Holmes had red painted hair and referred to himself as The Joker.

The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra's al Ghul.
