The second trailer to The Dark Knight Rises not only featured the villainous Bane going at it against the Caped Crusader, Batman, but one scene featured -- depending which NFL fan you ask -- another hero of sorts, Hines Ward of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Ward and his fellow Steelers teammates, including Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, Troy Polamalu, Mike Wallace and James Harrison, played as part of the Gotham City Rogues - coached by former Steeler and Superbowl winning coach Bill Cowher. The were up against the Monuments, with had Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl as part of the team.

Ward's scene, filmed at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field, saw him run back a kick-off for a touchdown. While Ward actually is a wide receiver for the Steelers and doesn't return kick-offs, the four-time NFL Pro Bowler still said he still had a great time.

“I hadn't run back a kickoff in forever," Ward told USA Today. "It was a little bizarre. But I scored on the return and any time I score it's a lot of fun."

Ward, who was brought on the movie by executive producer on The Dark Knight Rises and part owner of the Steelers, Thomas Tull, wasn't able to offer up any details, but did state how excited for the movie he is.

“It blew me away. I mean to be a part of something that will last forever was amazing. I was truly blessed to be a part of it all," he said. "I was honored when the producer of the movie asked me to be in it. I have always been a Batman fan.  So it was a once in a lifetime experience for me."

When the trailer was officially released, Ward couldn't help but contain his enthusiasm and shared his thoughts.

"It's off the chain," he said. "I can't wait to see the movie with my son."

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra's al Ghul.
