Daredevil will be coming on board Brian Michael Bendis' New Avengers, with issue #16, reports the USA Today.
Update: Marvel released an official press release: Fear Itself Brings Daredevil To The New Avengers.
Bendis shares his thoughts on DD, and gives us a few clues as to what role the Man Without Fear will be playing - and just why DD is signing up.
"He's got a lot to answer for and a lot to deal with," said Bendis. "He is a fish out of water on the Avengers, and that's uncomfortable and damn fun to write."
The issue is a "Fear Itself" tie-in that sees Daredevil come to the rescue of Avengers Mansion, as it is under siege with Jessica Drew and baby inside.
"That opens his eyes to maybe this is a good place for him to be right now," stated Bendis.
Bendis goes on to talk about the larger role Daredevil will now have, and talks about why we really haven't see much of DD in the latest events.
"Daredevil, particularly — and I'm to fault for this as anybody — is never really involved in any of the big events," Bendis said. "His story line just never lines up with Skrulls or whatever the hell else we're doing. It was nice to get him in line for an Avengers team, but at the same time have him involved in some of this crazy mishegas we've got going on."
Bendis will also be putting out a Daredevil: End of Days mini with David Mack, and art by Klaus Janson, Bill Sienkiewicz and Alex Maleev. This is a "The End" type of story that Bendis says is "really, really beautiful."
