It's been a year or so since news surfaced that the Wonder Woman TV Series that was to star Adrianne Palicki had been canceled by NBC, and now it is being reported that the CW is going ahead with their own version.
However, it seems the CW will be taking the "Wonder" out of Wonder Woman, as the series is aptly titled "Amazon," and is all an origin story.
Vulture says that the new Wonder Woman series will be written by Allan Heinberg, and sees Wonder Woman "as a young, budding superhero, rather than a fully formed defender of liberty."
Vulture goes on to compare the new series to Smallville, as in the "no tights, no flights" rule — so most likely we wouldn't be seeing Diana with her iconic look, lasso and bracelets.
Apparently the series is just getting a script and has not been definitely green lit by the network.
Wonder Woman has been making the headlines as of late with the recent news that she and Superman are now a couple as of the Justice League #12 comic book. In addition to a possible appearance in the Man of Steel movie, a Wonder Woman movie is said to be slated for a possible 2015 release.
