The Conjuring 2 Director James Wan Up For DC Movie
Today not only saw Warner Bros. announce James Wan on The Conjuring 2, but it's also become known WB is eyeing Wan for another movie, which may include a DC Comics property.
Deadline reports in addition to directing The Conjuring 2, Wan nabbed a producing deal where Wan will develop and produce films in the science fiction, horror, and comedy genres through his Atomic Monster production banner and with New Line Cinema.
Wan recently produced The Conjuring spinoff, Annabelle, and directed the Insidious movies, The Conjuring, Saw and the upcoming Fast and Furious VII.
Regarding the DC Comics property, New Line president/COO Toby Emmerich stated, “James will make an important movie for New Line and Warner Bros or DC, and that is definitely part of the plan, and a reason for bringing him into the family. He’s the only overall director with a deal here, because we see him as a class of one.”
Warner Bros. recently announced their slate of DC movies related to the Justice League with ten plus films.
Neil Gaiman also let it be known that further DC movie announcements would be coming with the Vertigo slate of movies, which includes Sandman and Justice League Dark.
