Right around the time yours truly got back into comics with Annihilation, another Marvel Event was taking place.
Mark Millar was penning the biggest event of the decade with Civil War, which saw hero vs. hero.
While Marvel hasn't stopped with that routine, at least Mark Millar did it well.
Anyway, on to the matter at hand.
Thor had gone missing during Civil War and the "bad guy" heroes (at least in my book) needed a heavy hitter. So Tony Stark came up with the idea to clone Thor, as Tony had a strand of Thor's hair, and got together with Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four, and Hank Pym to do the dastardly deed.
Rangorak is the Thor clone's official name, but fans have come to know him by "Clor." Now in an ensuing battle, Clor killed Goliath, and then went on to attempt to kill all the heroes who were against the super hero registration act. Eventually down the line, Thor comes back and defeats his evil clone.
So what does this have to do with Iron Man 3?
It's said that Tony Stark is going to be assembling an armada of Iron Man suits to fend off whatever may be the Mandarin army. It's even rumored that Pepper Potts may don an armor of her own (much like in the comics). So Tony might need some extra help.
"Something that was very overlooked in The Avengers, but is still of great importance is that Tony Stark has access to Thor's DNA"
Of course, maybe the DNA won't be used for Iron Man 3, but further down the line...but still is rather interesting.
I can't recall the scene the above metions, anyone remember the exact scene Roger Wardell references?
Iron Man 3 blasts off May 3rd, 2013 directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.
