[[wysiwyg_imageupload:7098:]]We all saw it on the big screen that Agent Phil Coulson met his demise at the hands of the diabolical brother of Thor, Loki.

And then we all saw his return at last year's New York Comic-Con with "Agent Coulson Lives!"

We've since learned that Clark Gregg will go on to headline the ABC television series, Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., that will see Coulson lead a team of agents as they investigate strange and unclassified cases.

Of course the big question has yet to be answered, and that is: How did Coulson survive the Loki attack?

There have been numerous theories presented by the fans, some of which include that Coulson will become the Vision.

We see that Clark Gregg keeps up with all the rumors and speculation as he mentions the Vision and the other theories while speaking with Screen Rant.

There was people talking about, was he gonna come back as The Vision? We never saw the body. The cards were in the locker. There was a lot of people talking about the Blu-ray, the English Blu-ray, you didn’t see the spear come through Coulson.

Clark Gregg continued that at first he was reluctant to return as Coulson, as he didn't want to undermine The Avengers story, but once Joss Whedon explained the details, he was sold.

When Joss described to me the mystery that takes place in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the complexity and the unanswered questions about Phil Coulson standing there trying to deal with this, I found it so fascinating and so true to the world of the comics and mythology in general as I understand them that I was immediately in.

Speaking of the story of Coulson's return, it seems as if it will be a mystery and play into the new S.H.I.E.L.D. series, and we also learn that since Coulson is, indeed, coming back -- there had to be some deception going on. Or should we say more deception? We already know that Nick Fury's use of the bloodstained Captain America cards was a ruse, so it looks as if it didn't - or hasn't - stopped.

It would be surprising to me if this was a world where there wasn’t some reckoning for the fact that it’d be … you know, some level of deception must have been perpetrated on the Avengers.”

It should also be interesting if the deception plays out with The Avengers and Nick Fury further down the line, affecting their relationship.

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. looks to have a Fall 2013 release.

The Avengers 2 assembles May 1, 2015 with Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013, Thor: The Dark World on November 8, 2013, Captain America: Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014, the Guardians of the Galaxy movie on August 1, 2014 and Ant-Man on November 6, 2015..
