Remember the cinematographer that came out and said that The Avengers movie was appalling?
Well, that was the same DP on Inception, Wally Pfister, who will see his directorial debut with the sci-fi movie Transcendence.
Currently, Johnny Depp is in talks to star in the movie, with Inception and The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan on as executive producer along with wife, Emma Thomas.
Prometheus' Noomi Rapace is also in talks to play the female lead with either James McAvoy or Tobey Maguire in talks for another male leading role. Christopher Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) is also said to be offered a role.
The plot is said to center on a man (Johnny Depp) who gets sucked into a computer that develops some kind of evil awareness, described as "the vein of 2001: A Space Odyssey and Inception."
I'm thrilled and feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Johnny," Pfister told THR. "He is a creative and intelligent artist whom I feel will bring great depth to the character and the overall narrative."
Transcendence looks to begin filming next year from Warner Bros.
