There is still some speculation that Vin Diesel might not be playing Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and now Chris Pratt offers his thoughts. Interestingly enough, the below video could be read as if Vin Diesel might be playing another role, with many online thinking it's actually Thanos.
Pratt says Vin Diesel will be great and then says the role of Groot is amazing. He doesn't specifically say "Vin Diesel will be great as Groot." Pratt does continue, however, stating that he watched some of Vin Diesel's movies in a new light with the mention of Diesel being cast as Groot.
Marvel Studios has yet to confirm Vin Diesel as Groot or an actor playing Thanos.

"I think Vin Diesel is going to be great. The role if Groot is also an amazing role. I want to tell you about it, but I feel like even if I tell you one little thing it's going to start pulling the thread, like expose too much. But I think Vin is going to be amazing. Vin Diesel, his voice is an incredible tool that he has. I've watched a couple of his movies now that I knew he was going to be cast as Groot, and listening to his voice...truly his greatest talent is his voice."
The "Guardians of the Galaxy movie" has an August 1, 2014 release directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer and Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Benicio Del Toro as The Collector, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Lee Pace as Ronan, Djimon Hounsu as Korath the Pursuer, with John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, Glen Close as Nova Prime, and Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon.
