Chris Pratt Signed Multi-Picture Deal With Marvel Studios For Guardians of the Galaxy
Good news for fans of Star-Lord as it's learned that Guardians of the Galaxy movie actor Chris Pratt has signed a multi-picture deal with Marvel Studios.
If the movie happens to be a success, this could mean more Guardians of the Galaxy movies in the future.
Chris Pratt recently spoke with the Huffington Post with the news of the multi-picture deal becoming known.
"I think that's how it works for everyone," Pratt said about signing with Marvel. "Yeah, they pretty much own me for as long as they want. [Laughs] Which, hopefully, will be a really long time."
Pratt also spoke about his battle with weight gain and auditioning for Guardians of the Galaxy. Coming off another movie role, Pratt was up to a massive 295 lbs! Come that January 1st, Pratt would start to diet and exercise, and then when he got the audition call for Guardians of the Galaxy, he had only lost 10lbs and was at a chubby 285! Thankfully, James Gunn saw something in Chris Pratt that the actor did as well as Pratt mentioned he felt he nailed the part.
"For me it felt like a perfect fit right off the bat," Pratt said. "I felt like at my very first audition that I nailed it, but I was afraid that I wasn't physically right for it because I was still pretty big from this movie. And so I just thought, 'If they could just believe in me, then I can lose this weight, then I'll get this role.'
Recently, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn even stated he would like to spearhead a new Marvel Cosmic movie franchise.
"I want to lay down the rules, I want to start it – I would love to be able to see it grow into other things,” Gunn said about more Marvel Cosmic films. “I love talking about all the other filmmakers, sitting around with the producer pitching ideas for other filmmakers to take on future Marvel projects. It's a great thing to be a part of. And I don't think it's for everybody, but the truth is for me being able to sort of create this movie is a dream come true and just been a great experience."
The "Guardians of the Galaxy movie" has an August 1, 2014 release directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer and Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Benicio Del Toro as The Collector, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Lee Pace as Ronan, Djimon Hounsu as Korath the Pursuer, with John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, Glen Close as Nova Prime, and Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon.
