Channing Tatum talks more about playing Gambit in an upcoming Fox X-Men movie.
Though Tatum isn't officially confirmed, speaking with MTV, he lets it be known they are waiting for the right screenwriter and again hints that a Gambit movie would be more of an anti-hero flick.
“We're find a writer and sort of beating it out. I don’t want to give too much away because we don’t know that much right now other than we obviously know who Gambit is,” Tatum said. “We really do want to try our hardest to give something fresh. We’re obviously going to go to the saving the world superhero movies eventually, but maybe not for the first one. We kinda want to introduce this character in a very different way. When you try to do something different, you never really know right off the bat what that is. So we are feeling our way and really prove that concept of that person.”
It's highly speculated that Gambit will appear in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie as well, which hits May 27, 2016.
Channing Tatum plays the voice of Joaquin in The Book of Life, out October 17th.
