There is a rumor floating online that Carrie Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd, will be playing a young Princess Leia in Star Wars: The Force Awakens - meaning a flashback scene would be featured in the movie (something I believe hasn't happened in any of the Star Wars films).
Lourd recently addressed the rumor and stated it isn't true, but did confirm she has a role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
“That's a lie. That's a rumor,” Billie Lourd told ETOnline. “I wish I played a young princess. I can't talk to you about the character, or the lack of character. I didn't even say that. That was too much.”
Billie Lourd also stars on FOX's upcoming Scream Queens.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has a December 18, 2015 release directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer.
Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.
