Marvel Studios and Disney have announced that "Captain America 2" will have an April 4th, 2014 release date.

The list of directors has been narrowed down to three, with former director Joe Johnson not being one of them.

We've also recently heard that none of the other Assemblers will appear, as Marvel will return to more stand-alone type stories.

For more with Chris Evans as Captain America check out The Avengers, in theaters May 4th.

The second installment will pick-up where the highly anticipated Marvel’s The Avengers (May 4, 2012) leaves off, as Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world.

The Avengers is directed by Joss Whedon, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.
