Is J.J. Abrams bringing Benedict Cumberbatch from Star Trek Into Darkness over to Star Wars: Episode VII?
That's what a new report states, though it's not specifically stated "rumor."
FilmChronciles says Abrams is bringing Cumberbatch on board and goes on to cite a Total Film magazine article as possible reference; however, the title of the article matter-of-factly reads: "Benedict Cumberbatch Is In Star Wars: Episode VII."
It's also stated:
Lucasfilm are about to make a big casting announcement regarding Star Wars VII, and that casting announcement appears to be none-other than Benedict Cumberbatch
So it's quite possible they may have it on good word that Benedict Cumberbatch is in Star Wars Episode VII, though no specific details are known at this time.
Cosmic Book News first told you about a disciple of Palpatine for the movie which was seemingly confirmed by another rumor; so perhaps Benedict Cumberbatch would fill that role. Of course, it's possible the actor could be on the opposite side, fighting for the light side of The Force.
Star Wars: Episode VII has a 2015 release directed by J.J. Abrams.
