Benedict Cumberbatch basically confirms there were talks between him and Marvel for Doctor Strange, but offers that it's probably not going to happen because he is already committed to another project.
MTV asks Cumberbatch about the Doctor Strange rumors, with the actor replying, "As far as I’m aware, even if that was the case, it couldn’t work out because I’m doing a little play called Hamlet in London. So I don’t think I could even if that was in the cards. It sounds like a fantastic project. It’s a shame if I miss out, but who knows?”
MTV then pressed Cumberbatch if there were ever talks for the role, with Cumberbatch remaining mum.
“I couldn’t possibly comment,” he said.
It's speculated at this weekend's Comic-Con more could be learned about the Doctor Strange movie.
