Ben Affleck confirms what was previously said about the new Caped Crusader in Batman Vs. Superman in that the Dark Knight will be a seasoned veteran.
Previously, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara described the new Batman as "tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile."
Now Ben Affleck tells 411Mania that is a proper description.
"Yes, Kevin described it aptly," Affleck said. "I don't want to go further because I want to be able to capitalize on what is new about this iteration by having it be a surprise to the audience."
Regarding that surprise to the audience, Ben Affleck also goes on to state that Zack Snyder's vision for the new Batman is different than Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale's, but will still be keeping with what fans know in regards to the myth of the Batman.
"Initially I was reluctant as I felt I didn't fit the traditional mold but once Zack showed me the concept, and that it would be both different from the great movies that Chris and Christian made but still in keeping with tradition I was excited," Affleck said about donning the cape and cowl. "Doing something different and new is always tricky and part of the thrill and the risk is that initially it confounds expectations. The truth is, it's the movie and the execution of it is what all the actors depend on and I believe in Zack's vision."
The sequel to "Man of Steel" goes into production next year for a July 17, 2015 release also starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
