It's learned that The Avengers 2 will have the largest visual effects of any of the Marvel movies, which means even more than The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Captain America 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Producer on The Avengers 2 as well as the Ant-Man movie, Victoria Alonso, recently talked shop at the VES Summit.
While there, Alonso mentioned The Avengers 2 will top 3000 VFX shots giving the movie the largest VFX count for Marvel Studios.
Guardians of the Galaxy had 2,750 visual effects shots, with Captain America 2 at 2,500.
THR also reports Alonso stated Marvel Studios will be working with seven to 12 VFX vendors in five to seven different countries for The Avengers 2.
We can speculate what some of the VFX shots will consist of in The Avengers 2 as the movie does feature the Hulk, who has been stated to have a larger role; Avengers 2 also features the villain Ultron, which is done with CGI made up of actor James Spader's face, likeness and movements; there will also be Ultron drones, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver powers, the Hulkbuster Iron Man armor, and judging from set photos lots of battles.
We can further speculate due to the rumor that Robert Downey Jr. will be featured in Captain America 3, with Civil War used as the storyline, that something happens in The Avengers 2 that causes the govt. to want to register super humans. So possibly there could be a lots of destruction with Ultron attacking Earth on the scale of something we haven't previously seen in a Marvel movie.
"The Avengers: Age Of Ultron" hits May 1, 2015 directed by Joss Whedon starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Paul Bettany as Vision, with James Spader as Ultron.
