It's learned James Wan will be filming Aquaman in Australia and starts pre-production this month.

Gold Coast Bulletin reports Aquaman will kick into high fear following Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok, which recently finished filming.

According to the report, Aquaman will go into pre-production at Village Roadshow Studios later this month once crew members finish dismantling the Thor: Ragnarok set. The Aquaman set will then be built and eventually Jason Momoa, Amber Heard (Mera), and Willem Dafoe (Vulko) will join production.

It's further reported Aquaman will have Bill Brzeski, known fo Iron Man 3, as the production designer, and Joel Kramer, known for Furious 7, will serve as second unit/assistant director and stunt coordinator.

No specific plot details are known, but it's thought Jason Momoa's Aquaman battles Black Manta. Jason Momoa recently talked about Aquaman stating it's awesome and he can't wait to start.

"'Wow. It's awesome.' Now I know what I am going to do in Aquaman... I'm like, 'I can't wait. Can't wait,'" Momoa said.

Director James Wan also recently described Aquaman as: "A classic sort of swashbuckling action adventure, sort of high seas adventure story. It's a quest story potentially in the spirit of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Romancing the Stone."

Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe can first be seen in Zack Snyder's Justice League movie, out November 17, 2017.

Aquaman has a July 27, 2018 release.
