Back in August of last year, Geoff Johns let it be known that an Aquaman animated movie would be coming soon.
Now at last night's premiere of Justice League: War, an Aquaman animated film is confirmed.
Justice League: War had its premiere at the Paley Center where a post-credit scene teased an Aquaman animated movie.
That's not all as producers also revealed the animated movies will be part of the same universe, loosely based on the New 52.
Newsarama was on hand to cover the event and grabbed the following details:
There will be a DC Animated Universe created, with continuity, based off of (but not directly adapted from) the New 52.
There still will be original projects; "dream" projects mentioned include: "Gotham by Gaslight," "Red Son," "Long Halloween," and "Kingdom Come."
As Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox featured a post-credit scene, so did Justice League: War:
After the devestation to Earth due to the attack by the forces of Apokolips, a shot of the ocean is shown. In the water lay swathes of dead fish and other sealife - and then waves start from the middle of the water. A vessel rises, and with what sure seems to be the helmet of Orm, Ocean Master (Aquaman's brother). In his arms lie a dead old man. Ocean Master says, "The Surface Dwellers have killed our king. This is an act of war. And they will pay."
The panel didn't specifically confirm Aquaman, but teased, "You'll see a movie with Atlantis in the title."
As noted in the report, WB looks to be incorporating the Aquaman/Justice League "Throne of Atlantis" storyline into an animated version.
Perhaps that is the title: Justice League: Throne Of Atlantis.
