Yesterday Marvel Studios announced that 69-year-old Michael Douglas has been cast as Hank Pym in the Ant-Man movie as well as confirming that Paul Rudd will portray Scott Lang.
Now Douglas comments on the role for the first time.
Douglas tells Reuters he has been wanting to do a Marvel movie for a long time as it's something his son can watch.
"I've been dying to do a Marvel picture for so long," he said. "The script is really fun, the director is really good. Dylan (the actor's 13-year-old son) will love it. He'll have a picture he can see."
The article goes on to mention that in Michael Douglas' career, he has only done one sequel, but replying to that, Douglas offers that Marvel informed him there would be sequels.
"(Marvel) reciprocated well, there are sequels. Who knows?" Douglas said.
In addition to the casting news, director Edgar Wright offered some specific details regarding Michael Douglas' role hinting a younger version of the character would be involved in a prologue wearing the Ant-Man suit.
Ant-Man hits July 31, 2015.
