[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5621:]]It's no surprise that the House of Ideas has more become the house that follows the leader as Marvel Comics - now - (get it?) is basically a playing ground for Marvel Studios.
And judging from Matt Fraction's reaction that may not be a good thing.
With that, two times this week we have heard mention of a certain name; two times from Marvel's big dogs.
Last Friday saw Marvel EIC Axel Alonso mention Adam Warlock; that down the road they will be re-introducing him with the Silver Surfer.
Now in a recent interview at Marvel.com, Bendis mentions Adam Warlock as well.
Marvel.com: Gamora was once romantically connected with Adam Warlock; will that come up in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY?
Brian Michael Bendis: Yes. Later down the line. We’re not there yet. We have other things to do, but absolutely. I am stunned that I have been at Marvel this long and have not typed the words Adam Warlock. It’s stunning to me. I’ve never typed the words “Adam Warlock.” I can’t believe it.
Adam Warlock has also been connected with Thanos in the comic books as well, and the Mad Titan is said to be appearing in both the Guardians of the Galaxy movie and The Avengers 2.
So Warlock in Guardians? Strong possibility as he was a part of DnA's team, too, which the movie - hopefully - seems to be borrowing heavily from.
Basically when it comes down to it, Alonso and Bendis aren't going to use characters that are not associated with movies.
