Yesterday we learned that creator, director and executive producer, Frank Darabont, had stepped down as the showrunner on AMC's hit series The Walking Dead.
Earlier today, news came that Glen Mazzara, who Darabont appointed as the show's new exective producer not too long ago, will take on that role.
This comes via EW.com who has no other information other than speculating that Darabont may have had issues adjusting to the lower budgets that television uses, as he has mentioned that in past interviews. Currently Darabont is under a two year deal, but what more he is going to have with TWD is unknown.
This is a real shocker, but it looks like TWD is still in good hands as Mazzara has previously worked on The Shield, Life, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior and Hawthorne.
The Walking Dead season two is still due to premiere on AMC October 16th.
