In various cities around the world, Sony held "Sneak Peek" events featuring the brand new 3-D trailer for the Amazing Spider-Man as well as an 8 minute sizzle reel.
If you happened to miss out on that, the trailer will be released at 12 am PST/ 3am ET on Tuesday (like in 4 hours).
From the sound of it, the trailer was pretty darn good: Spidey is shown creating his mechanical web-shooters; the Lizard is revealed, though not fully, causing all sorts of mayhem -- and there is that Spidey humor we have all come to know and love. Some are even comparing the trailer and movie to The Dark Knight Rises.
Blasphemy, I know. Right?
Seems this version of Spidey may be a little darker as even director Marc Webb has come out and said there is going to be a bit more realism.
“There’s this trickster quality we were very keen on exploring, with that humor and that fun and that wisecracking stuff. We wanted to keep that alive, but we wanted it to be realistic. We wanted that humor to come from a real place," Webb explained in a Comic Con Magazine.
Getting back to the trailer, while you may have missed the big event, where Andrew Garfield jokingly referred to the next Spider-Man being half black and hispanic (Ultimate Comics version), you can check out a pic of Spidey and Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) that a fan snapped in NYC:
The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3rd, 2012 in 3-D and is directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, Irrfan Khan as Nels Van Adder, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Sally Field as May Parker and C. Thomas Howell as Ray Cooper.
