As of late there hasn't been much news in regards to "Amazing Spider-Man 2," but our current theory is that Morbius The Living Vampire will play the sequel's main villain, as well as may have been the mysterious figure in the Amazing Spider-Man post-credit scene. Currently, Morbius is set to get a big push in the Amazing Spider-Man Marvel Comics as well as his own comic book, with the comics mirroring the movies more so than ever it seems.

Last we heard in regards to a director for Amazing Spider-Man 2, was that Marc Webb might not be coming back. Different reports have stated that Sony wasn't happy with the first movie (even though it made a bundle), and that Webb might be on other projects.

Someone actually dropped us a line and said that Len Wiseman has already been named as director on "Amazing Spider-Man 2." Wiseman directed the recent Total Recall movie and has produced/directed the Underworld movies. In addition, Wiseman has a working relationship with the "Amazing Spider-Man 2" writers, Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman, both executive producers on the "Amazing Spider-man 2" movie as well. Orci reached out to Wiseman to direct the upcoming Sleepy Hallow series and the trio have worked on the Hawaii 5-0 television series together.

We were told that Sony wants "Amazing Spider-Man 2" to be more action-oriented than the previous film under Marc Webb.

The Amazing Spider-Man is directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, Irrfan Khan as Nels Van Adder, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Sally Field as May Parker and C. Thomas Howell as Ray Cooper.
