With Wonder Woman out of the equation, Adrianne Palicki lets it be known she wouldn't mind playing Supergirl.
Palicki was set to star in the NBC Wonder Woman series
- with a pilot even filmed - but NBC didn't go for it, and it was tossed aside.
Warner Bros. most recently announced that Israeli model and actress Gal Gadot will be playing the iconic role in Batman Vs. Superman, so Palicki offered up her thoughts on another DC Comics superheroine.
Speaking to IGN about the next G.I. Joe Movie, Palicki mentioned Supergirl.
"I'm waiting for Supergirl," she told IGN when asked about doing more superhero roles.
Interestingly enough, fans may not have to wait long for Supergirl on the big screen as the character was an Easter Egg in the latest Superman movie, Man of Steel.
A prelude comic book written by Man of Steel writer David Goyer featured Supergirl crash landing on Earth. In the Man of Steel, one of the pods was revealed to be open when Clark discovered the Fortress Of Solitude/Kryptonian vessel buried in ice.
Regarding the Supergirl Easter Egg in Man of Steel, David Goyer offered (via AICN) the following:
I will say that I did intentionally leave some loose ends, not as sequel bait, but just because I thought they were interesting. I don’t know if anyone that’s viewed the film has picked up on this yet, but when Clark goes into the scout ship, which sort of becomes the Fortress of Solitude, you see four cryogenic sarcophagi for the crew that piloted that ship 18,000 or 20,000 years ago. There’s a shot there – and, it’s funny, at one point Zack took it out, but I cried ‘Uncle!’, and he put it back in. But you see there are four pods: three of them have skeletons in them, but one is open and there is no skeleton. Zack had missed it the first time he read the script. I pointed it out to him, and he was like, ‘Okay, that’s interesting. That’s an interesting loose end.
