Last night saw the debut of the new Batman prequel series on FOX with Gotham.
Ratings are in, and 8 million people tuned in to watch the Gotham premiere.
The first episode also scored a 3.2 rating among the advertisers' coveted 18-49 crowd.
FOX more than likely is pretty happy with the number as Gotham faced some pretty heavy competition including Monday Night Football, WWE Monday Night Raw, The Voice, Dancing With Stars and two episodes of The Big Bang Theory.
It's probable Gotham will have a high percentage of DVR views as well.
Up next for comic book TV shows is season two of Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., which debuts tonight. The first season kicked off strong with 12 million viewers; however as the season progressed, the series dipped by a rather large amount finishing with around 5-6 million viewers.
NBC's Constantine premiers Friday, October 24th.
