Big Plans For Sylvester Stallone In Marvel COSMIC Universe
Sylvester Stallone is playing a well known Marvel COSMIC character (find out here), and now it's learned he will be a part of the Marvel COSMIC Universe going forward.
“My plan is to see more of him,” director James Gunn tells the Toronto Sun. “I’m not sure about him appearing in Vol. 3, we’ll have to see about that, but it’s our plan to see more of Stallone. Kevin (Feige) and I are working on what is going to become of the Marvel Cosmic Universe and where it’s going to go. We plan to see the rest of them in the future. It’s my plan to have Sly — and I talked to him last night — to find a place for him in the future of the Marvel Universe.”
I won't go into specific spoilers regarding Sylvester Stallone's character in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but the "them" James Gunn is referring to could even be featured in their own movie! That would rock!
James Gunn recently confirmed he is writing and directing Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and also hinted at being involved with Marvel for ten years to come. In addition, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently hinted at the Marvel COSMIC Universe being a big part of the Phase 4 plans.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" has a May 5, 2017 release directed by James Gunn starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn. New cast members include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell.
Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" continues the team's adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill's true parentage.
