After finishing this issue, I thought, "What a blast! What a great issue!" Considering that #2 was such an odd, "It was all a dream" silliness, that reading this story was ten times better. Wonder Woman is now a Star Sapphire and is forced to take on the Black Lanterns and her Red Lantern Raged friend, Mera, who is angry; she thinks Wonder Woman was still possessed by a black ring.
Writer Greg Rucka did something even uber-Lantern writer Geoff Johns has yet to do, he explained what it felt like wearing a power ring, "...there is no way to describe it. What it is to wear a power ring, and feel emotion made manifest," thought Wonder Woman.
That was awesome!
Basically, Rucka got into the head of both Wonder Woman and Mera while at the same time advancing the Blackest Night storyline.
Simply, that is just brilliant writing. Add to the fact, he touched on that amazing first issue bringing back the resurrected Maxwell Lord as a thorn in Wonder Woman's side.
Between this and Nicola Scott's art, I was blown away by this issue. She also achieved something that artist Scott Kolins has yet too, and that is make Barry Allen look cool as a Blue Lantern. Simply, this was an awesome issue and worth the cover price.
