Transformers 3 In 3-D! Shockwave To Be Main Villain
SHOCKWAVE USAToday.com reports that the next Transformers movie, due out in theaters July 1, 2011, will be in 3-D and will also have a bit less of that "goofball humor" (and no resurrections) that a lot of fans seemed to dislike about Revenge of the Fallen. Bay accepts some of the responsibility with, "I'll take some of the criticism," says Bay, standing at a set built to resemble a dilapidated nuclear reactor. "It was very hard to put (the sequel) together that quickly after the writers' strike (of 2007-08)" he tells USA Today. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura also blames the quick release of the second movie as it "strained the plot." Remember those annoying twins who spoke Ebonics? "Gone," says Bay. This is good news for long time fans of Transformers and even new ones who came on board with the first movie. Speaking of a long time, Bay stated that fans of the 80's cartoon should be happy as none other than SHOCKWAVE is the main villain for Transformers 3. Shia LaBeouf reprises his role as Sam Witwicky who will have a new love interest, Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, after Megan Fox (Mikaela) was apparently dropped before the movie started shooting.
