SDCC '10: Smallville Panel 10:00-11:00 Smallville Screening and Q&A— Comic-Con favorite Smallville returns for its last visit to Comic-Con in advance of the show's 10th and final season, as showrunners Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson join star/executive producer Tom Welling and series stars Erica Durance, Cassidy Freeman, and Justin Hartley to talk about the year ahead, answer fan questions, and give an exclusive sneak peek at clips from the final season. From Tollin/Robbins Productions, Millar/Gough Ink in association with Warner Bros. Television, Smallville airs Fridays at 8pm ET/PT on The CW. Smallville: The Complete Ninth Season will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on September 7. Geoff Johns, CCO of DC Entertainment, is moderating and promises a surprise or two for the final season. They begin by showing a clip highlighting the past nine seasons; just as there were many guest stars and surprises during those, season ten will have some as well! Clark is shown flying - with a costume - and Louis says, "Superman!" The costume is a bit different than the one in Superman Returns - "slightly altered." More surprises: namely, the Blue Beetle! The Blue Beetle clip Geoff Johns has been showing off at the DC panels is for a "Blue and Gold" episode of Smallville, being written by the writer! Booster Gold as well! As the cast comes out on stage, Cassidy Freeman, Erica Durance, Justin Hartley, and Tom Welling, in addition to the producers -- it is said Darkseid will be the main season villain! They say, similar to Doomsday in Smallville, Darkseid will be a bit different compared to the comics -- that he will be made to fit in this world. Tom Welling mentions he will be directing an episode again as he likes doing that. John Schneider is there! He will be reprising his role as Pa Kent! The panel are really playing up how Clark will be Superman and it won't just happen at the end of the season. Michael Rosenbaum is mentioned as Lex Luthor returning, they say the door is open. Regarding the Blue Beetle it will be Jaime Reyes; they say other Beetles may be around (mostly cameos) as Jaime will be a legacy type character. Skeets! Booster Gold will have his "robotic sidekick with him in his episode. Batman and Wonder Woman are mentioned with it being said they will not be in Smallville. The panel mentions that Chloe Sullivan will finally be appearing in the DC comic books, starting with the Jimmy Olsen co-feature in Action Comics #893, on sale August 25, 2010!
