UPDATED: 7/22/10 11:30pm Eastern
Here is a quick run down for those who may not be able to view the live panel:
The Mondo Marvel Panel was held a few hours ago with Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Brian Michael Bendis, Jeph Loeb, C.B. Cebulski, Jim McCann, Editor Mark Paniccia, Tom Brennan, Michael Horwitz, and Arune Singh, Manger of Communications.
They got right down to business with announcements:
This October will bring us a Loki mini-series from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Sensational Spider-Man) with art from Sebastián Fiumara (Ender's Shadow: Battle School).
Next up, Captain America & The Korvac Saga from Ben McCool, a four issue mini starting this December.
Captain America: Hail Hydra and Captain America: Fighting Avengers are announced.
Hail Hydra is a five part mini starting in January 2011 by Jonathan Maberry (DoomWar) and illustrated by a rotating team including Sergio Cariello (Dynamite’s The Lone Ranger), Tom Sciola (Godland), Phil Winslade (Howard the Duck) and Kyle Hotz (Annihilation: Conquest – Wraith) according to Newsarama.
CA: Fighting Avengers is a new ongoing series from Brian Clevenger (Avengers & The Infinity Gauntlet). Look for that this coming January as well.
Another Captain America title is announced and being written by Mark Waid - Captain America Man out of Time!
Ultimate Thor starts this October from Fantastic Four scribe Jonathan Hickman.
Ultimate Doom is set for December 2010 which Bendis commented on with “The shocking conclusion to the Ultimate Enemy trilogy.”
There will be a Strange Tale: Volume Two later this year, Cebulski mentions.
Cosmic Book News favorites, Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning are up next. They are doing an Iron Man/Thor series starting in November with Scot Eaton on art -- and the High Evolutionary is said to be involved according to CBR. The Cosmic Duo are also doing a Rocket Raccon/Groot mini, which you can read more about here.
An image of Nova is shown with “Who is the new Man Without Fear!"
According to Marvel this is a new image -- previously unseen! Apparently, they are not ready to give it out yet, when questioned on it. Stay tuned!
Fred Van Lente and Wellington Alves are doing a Power Man/Iron Fist “re-team” slated for January 2011.
The panel now opens up to the audience for questions. A lot seem to be mentioning Cosmic with Arune Singh saying to tell your friends to go out and support these titles. DnA can’t really comment on much as to not to spoil.
A fan asks when Secret Avengers is taking place in reference to TI; they say “sort of alongside. He's commuting from one event to another.”
Fans thank the two writers and ask if there are any more [cosmic] characters they would like to work with to which they respond “so many” etc.
Someone mentions the Celestial head, Knowhere, and if we will ever find out who is responsible. They say the first chance they get they will tell the origin.
The panel is asked if they are doing any more cosmic titles after RR/Groot to which they responded to stay tuned.
Andy Lanning asked the audience if they wanted a “Cosmic Avengers” title which was met with applause.
Watch out for Avengers #7 as the Illuminati return there. Bendis had this to say, “They will be outed to the world for doing something even worse than they did last time..”
