Netflix Castlevania Series Gets A Poster
Netflix has released a cool new poster for the upcoming Castlevania animated series.
Details about the new Netflix Castlevania animated series include that it will be released later this year, will be rated-R, is written by Warren Ellis, is based on the Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse video game, and a second season will be released in 2018.
Adi Shankar, producer on the Castlevania animated series, released the poster on Facebook and previously compared the project to HBO's Game of Thrones.
"This is very much Castlevania done in the vein of Game of Thrones," Shankar said. "[Warren Ellis] added so much depth to the material. [The series is] going to be R-rated as f-ck. This is going to be the best f-cking video game adaptation we've had to date."
Shankar also enthusiastically offered the Castlevania series will be the best video game adaptation to date.
"Furthermore, I personally guarantee that it will end the streak and be the western world’s first good video game adaptation," Shankar said. "Kevin Kolde is the man and Seasons 1 & 2 were written by Warren f’ing Ellis."
Shankar also offered it will be super violent!
"I’m producing a super violent Castlevania mini-series with my homies Fred Seibert and Kevin Klonde. It’s going to be dark, satirical, and after a decade of propaganda it will flip the vampire sub-genre on its head," Shankar said. "There will be a lot [of violence and gore]. The goal is to bring hard hitting anime to the America and be America’s first animated series for adults."
The Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse video game was originally released in 1989 for Nintendo from Konami and followed Trevor Belmont as he fought his way to stop Dracula from ravaging Europe in the 1400's. Alucard, Dracula's son, was also featured in the game as an ally to Trevor Belmont and is speculated for the Netflix Castlevania series.
