It's reported Fox is close to green lighting an untitled X-Men TV series which has been in development.

Deadline is reporting the X-Men TV series will be a drama and is near getting a pilot order for Fox TV.

The X-Men series is said to be an action-adventure written by Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, with Nix executive producing and Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg on as producers. Marvel TV is also involved as Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will produce.

It's further said the X-Men TV series has been received enthusiastically at Fox, with Fox chairman Gary Newman noting that he expects the final draft to come in shortly and a pilot pickup within the next week or two. Early casting has also begun with the process expected to move further forward once Fox officially green lights the X-Men TV series project.

The X-Men TV series: focuses on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. The show appears particularly timely, dealing with the plight of minorities in society.
