"The Wolverine" Put On The Backburner?

We just heard that Darren Aronofsky had bowed out of "The Wolverine" with Hugh Jackman already training to star.

Fox, in turn, released a statement saying they were aggressively searching for another director.

Now, a source close to EW states the movie might be put on hold as there is no hurry to replace Aronofsky.

They mention the recent disasters in Japan could be part of the reason, as the movie was scheduled to film in Tokyo.

Here's the blurb:

“I think we’re going to let it air out a bit before we approach another director,” says the source. “The one good thing, after losing Darren and what’s going on in Japan, is that we have a great script and the star attached and ready to go.”

I hope they do get somebody to replace Aronofsky and this is just rumor.

I take it, if true, Jackman who has already gained 10+lbs. of the 30 required by eating chicken and broccoli might not be too happy - or maybe he'll be relieved.
