pic20th Century Fox has announced that The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman, has a July 26th, 2013 release date.

The second of the franchise will be directed by James Mangold, with a script by Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback.

The movie will see Wolverine in Japan feuding with Japanese warriors as well as the Silver Samurai.

Previously, Mangold said the following:

“I think that this movie is much more an intense psychological and action-packed character piece, that’s much more about Logan getting lost in this very unique and insulated world of Japanese culture, gangster culture, and ninja culture,” he said. “The fighting is going to be unique because it’s all influenced by Japanese martial arts.”
