The Wolverine (2013): Famke Janssen As Jean Grey Is True (Spoiler)

Yesterday, news surfaced that Famke Janssen will reprise her role as Jean Grey for The Wolverine, the next mutant movie starring Hugh Jackman.

It was said that Famke Janssen had flown to Sydney, Australia to shoot a quick scene, but not much else was known.

Until today, that is.

A second website appears to have confirmation that Famke Janssen is indeed reprising as Jean Grey for The Wolverine.

"But wait," you say, "How does that fit?"

It's quite simple, as CinemaBlend informs us that Jean Grey and Wolverine actually met prior to X-Men.

Remember when Wolverine got shot with the adamantium bullet that caused his memories to become marbles?

Well, apparently, Famke Janssen will reprise as Jean Grey for a scene that involves a forgotten memory of Logan's that shows the meeting prior to Xavier's school.

I can't recall or not if it was even hinted that Jean Grey met him before in the movie, but I suppose it's easy to chalk it up to her having a poor memory as well with all her mental powers and such.

So from the sounds of it, it seems that Famke Janssen will just be featured in a short flashback scene, which is what was pretty much expected.

The Wolverine has a July 26th, 2013 release date, is being directed by James Mangold, stars Hugh Jackman, with Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback on a script adapted from Frank Miller and Christopher Claremont's comic arc from 1982.
